Bio:
Scott has a Bachelors of Science in
Botany from Iowa State University and a Master of
Science in Biological Sciences from the University
of Mississippi. Scott has ten years
of professional experience as a botanist working
exclusively in the Upper Midwest.
Notable rare plant finds include Botrychium
campestre, B. lanceolatum, B. minganense, B. mormo, B. oneidense, B. pallidum,
B. rugulosum, B. simplex, Carex flava, C.
michauxiana, C. novae-angliae, C. obtusata, C. scirpoidea, C. sterilis, Cladium
mariscoides, Cypripedium arientinum, C. candidum,
Dryopteris goldiana, Eleocharis quinquefora, E. rostellata,
Juncus stygius, Malaxis monophyllos, M. paludosa, Platanthera
clavellata, P. flava, Pyrola minor, Ranunculus
lapponicus, Rhynchospora capillacea, R. fusca, Rubus
chamaemorus, Salicornia rubra, Scleria
verticillata, Utricularia geminiscapa, Viola
lanceolata, and Waldsteinia fragarioides.
He is co-author of the Floristic Quality Assessment for Minnesota Wetlands.
Additionally, he
currently serves as President of the Minnesota Native
Plant Society (2006-Current) and
is on the Minnesota DNR Commissioner’s Advisory
Committee. He is also on the MN DNR list of
approved Botrychium spp. surveyors and the
MN DNR list of approved Endangered
and Threatened plant species surveyors.
